Fuchsia Lipstick on Terracotta

An open fuchsia lipstick in a satin rose-gold metal tube stands on the ribbed lip of a large unglazed terracotta dish. Its matching cap lies horizontally in the dish, giving a stable counterweight. A single large dusty-pink peony petal drapes over the dish edge, crisp veins against powdery clay. Strong high window light, short sharply defined shadows, warm brick background with one dark coral corner. Tight vertical cosmetic portrait, clean intact lipstick tip and accurate cylindrical mechanism, precious metal versus earthy ceramic, high-fashion still life, no brand marks or letters.
